6 cups Corn meal
2 teaspoons Baking soda
12 Corn shucks
Pour enough boiling water over the meal and soda mixture to make a soft dough which can be handled with the hands.
Prepare 4 to 6 handfuls of corn shucks by pouring boiling water over them to cover,
After teh corn shucks have softened then strip a few shucks to make strings.
Tie 2 shucks together at ends using the stings you just made
Lay an oval shaped ball of dough on shucks. The ball should be small enough where the shucks will cover it when folded and should be about as thick as your thumb from end to first joint
Fold carefully and tie with the strings you made.
stand them on the folded end in a large stew pot with enough water to keep from boiling dry (usually about the depth of your thumb depending on the pot).. Boil 30 to 45 minutes. Check to make sure the pot does not boil dry.
